Mexican man arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine, meth, heroin into Arizona

Federal authorities say a Mexican man has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle cocaine, methamphetamine and heroin into southern Arizona. U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred the 18-year-old man for a secondary inspection of his vehicle Wednesday at the Nogales port after a canine alerted them to the presence of drugs. During the secondary inspection, officers say they found 22 packages of cocaine, two packages of methamphetamine and one package of heroin. They say about 57 pounds of cocaine, three pounds of methamphetamine and 2½ pounds of heroin were seized and the drugs had a combined value of more than $595,000. CBP officials say the man was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations. His name and hometown still weren't released by Thursday.
