Drug Raid on Toms River Home, Man Charged With Cocaine Possession

A Toms River man was arrested in his Brightwood Drive home after a county drug raid allegedly found 14 grams of cocaine, police said.  Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford said the June 13 raid found 18 bags of cocaine, weighing a total 14 grams. As a result of the search warrant executed on the home and car of Juan Carlos Urbina Gomez, Gomez was arrested without incident. Gomez, 35, was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine. According to Captain Jack Sramaty of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Gomez was subsequently released on bail. Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group and members of the Toms River Township Police Department executed the warrant on the residential home, located off of Feathertree Road near Indian Hill and Hooper. Sramaty said in a release that Gomez was allegedly using a 2004 Cadillac Escalade in drug distribution activities, and the search warrant targeted the vehicle. Investigators allegedly seized approximately 14 grams of cocaine along with approximately $6,000. Toms River Police Department and the Ocean County Sheriffs Department K-9 Unit assisted in the investigation and in executing the search warrant.
