Brandie G. Montgomery

Brandie G. Montgomery, 28, last lived in an apartment along Cherry Street near Anderson Park. Prosecutors formally charged her Thursday with the class A felony manufacturing cocaine, narcotic or meth, class C felony neglect of a child, class D felony maintaining a common nuisance, and the class A misdemeanor taking child or endangered adult to nuisance.
Montgomery, who was initially arrested Dec. 26 on the allegations, was released from jail Thursday. She had told authorities during an appearance in Floyd County Circuit Court that she intended to go to an inpatient drug rehab program upon her release.
The alleged incident that led to Montgomery’s arrest happened Dec. 22, according to a probable-cause affidavit. One of her neighbors called police complaining of a strong odor coming from Montgomery’s apartment. Witnesses said Montgomery had told them her daughter knocked over a bottle of ammonia and they should leave their residence, but not call authorities or the landlord. She then purportedly left the premises on foot, records say.
