A woman in her 50s, suspected of being the drug supplier

A woman in her 50s, suspected of being the drug supplier, was detained. She will appear in court Thursday, however Di Genova would not specify on what charges.Laval police equipped with search warrants swooped down on two residences in Ste. Thérèse and Blainville today, as part of a crackdown on a cocaine ring. The ring is believed to have been selling the drug to students at one Laval high school for the past several months. "I've got the name of one" high school involved - "so far," Laval police Constable Franco Di Genova. However, "we don't want to let it out yet," he added. Investigators are also looking for a man in his 40s, suspected of being the drug pusher, Di Genova added. He would not provide a name or description of the man, nor the exact addresses raided. The probe into the drug ring began late last year, Di Genova said.Police still need to determine whether the ring was operating in other high schools in Laval or beyond, for instance in the Lower Laurentians, Di Genova said.
By mid afternoon, police were still unable to disclose the quantity of cocaine seized, Di Genova said.
