Mary Steck high school science teacher was sentenced to six months of probation without a verdict

Mary Steck was sentenced to six months of probation without a verdict Wednesday in Allegheny County Court. If she completes probation, drug charges could be dropped.
The suspended high school science teacher says she's been to rehab and is drug-free after five years.Steck's vehicle was stopped in May after a man got out and appeared to buy drugs. Police saw a syringe sticking out of her purse and later found heroin.
Police let her leave, but notified Pittsburgh Public Schools officials, who suspended her with pay.
