Antioch man pleads guilty to drug trafficking - San Jose Mercury News: "24-year-old Antioch man pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges in federal court Friday.
Investigators say Gerardo Valencia-Revuelta was part of a team that orchestrated the sale of $70,000 in high-grade crystal methamphetamine on short notice. He was one of five men arrested in a San Joaquin County drug sting in 2009.
He pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to distribute methamphetamine and to possessing the drug with intent to distribute.
Valencia-Revuelta was the last of five defendants to plead in the case, which stemmed from an investigation by the San Joaquin County Metropolitan Narcotics Task Force. He is scheduled to be sentenced March 18. The maximum penalties he could face include life in prison and a $4 million fine.
Two others who already pleaded guilty to the same charges were Luciano Mercado and Sergio Mercado. Federal prosecutors last fall dismissed drug charges against the Antioch man's brother, Hector Valencia-Revuelta, and another man, Ignacio Chavez-Valdez, but placed both men in deportation proceedings."
